Pallavi and Sandeep are Maharashtrian who are Pune residents now settled in the US. The contacted me for their wedding in Pune, about 2 to 3 months in advance.
In fact, if I remember correctly it was Pallavi who called me up and got the idea of services, pricing, etc. I sent her the quote and we fixed up the meeting at Starbucks, Seasons Mall, Pune.
Trivia: I had a similar meeting at Seasons Mall and that meeting lead to a wedding at Dutch Palace, Pune 🙂
Sandeep, who is a car enthusiast, was in the US at that time. Pallavi was working with an IT company in Pune. Our meeting was quite fruitful. She frankly briefs me about how they are planning the wedding and the story about how they met.
She shared her story, how they dated, where they dated. How their relationship has grown over the years. I could clearly see the two different personalities but still deeply in love.
As we sipped our coffee, our conversation involved many topics not just limited to weddings or wedding photography.
I suggested Pallavi that they should go for pre wedding shoot in Pune capture some romantic moment. She liked the idea and was curious how we can plan. It sounded fun and adventure to her. Anyone could see the excitement on her face. Later that day she called up Sandeep and floated the idea. Sandeep liked it too.
Sandeep was coming to Pune around 3 weeks before the wedding. So they decided to do the shoot a week before the wedding. Over the next few calls, we discussed about various possible prewedding locations in Pune and which one would suit best. From the style of dresses to the color of dresses and accessories.
Finally, we shortlisted the location. They decided to do the prewedding shoot at Oxford Golf Resort in Pune. Before heading to Oxford, we did a small photoshoot at The Flour Works restaurant in Kalyani Nagar. This is the place where they came for the first date and many more. I have posted a few pictures below from the prewedding shoot day. But do checkout complete set over here.
A week later came the wedding day, the wedding venue was Rohi Villa Palace, Koregaon Park, Pune. On our first call, I had informed Pallavi that we are already shooting a wedding in Pune on the same date but the timings of Mahurat were different.
But we have few team members available to shoot. She had already decided in her mind that no matter what she wanted us to shoot her wedding. There was little overlapping time with both weddings. But I will join my team here in Rohi Villa once team one which included me finishes our work at the first wedding.
So as per our plan, team A would start the work early morning on location A ( Sheraton ). And team B will start the work location B ( Rohi Villa ).
When you know how good your candid photographers are, you can easily rely on them with an independent wedding shoot. Although as promised I later joined them at Rohi Villa. Wedding rituals (Maharashtrian) had just started when I joined my core team.
We shot the wedding in the afternoon and the wedding reception in the evening.
